Getting Out by Going In (GOGI) was granted 501(c)3 non-profit status in 2006, with a mission of sharing GOGI Life Tools with individuals and organizations interested in culture shift and sustainable change. In 2018, GOGI expanded services to LEADERSHIP TRAINING for all populations such as youth leaders, religious groups, volunteer and non-profit organizations, private, public, and all other organizations seeking a simple way to unite positive conversation and inspire positive solutions for sustainable change. The Tool for this week is 5 SECOND LIGHTSWITCH - S The Tool for this week is 5 SECOND LIGHTSWITCH - Stopping a negative thought or stopping an urge sometimes feels impossible. FIVE SECOND LIGHTSWITCH is a great Tool to help overcome this obstacle. FIVE SECOND LIGHTSWITCH is part of the set of Tools called TOOLS OF THE BODY and was created when a group of Students of GOGI wanted to find a way to get their actions to not be so reactive or automatic. Wanting to find a way to simply stop decisions and choices that were lightning fast and seemed out of control, they created the ability to FLIP THE SWITCH and redirect any thought within five seconds to a positive action. When you have a positive action already picked out, it is easier to FLIP THE SWITCH. When you have your FIVE SECOND LIGHTSWITCH ready, you can make sure you don’t make the same mistakes of the past. Babies are born with a natural mastery of the GOGI Babies are born with a natural mastery of the GOGI Life Tool called BELLY BREATHING. As infants, our entire body seems to inhale, with the belly naturally moving in and out with every breath. This act of the belly area being engaged in the breathing process helps transport oxygen throughout our body. Our brains work better when the oxygen flow reaches our brain. As babies, it seems as if our entire body expands and contracts with every breath. As we grow, we forget this natural way of breathing, and can re-learn how to breathe with our GOGI Life Tool called BELLY BREATHING. When we place one hand on our chest and one hand on our belly, we can remind our body to get the breath into the belly, just like a GOGI baby.
