Free GOGI Programs
STEP 1: Calendar and Tools
Get on Calendar! GOGI stresses community engagement. We do this through our simplified set of GOGI Life Tools studied according to the GOGI Calendar of Study. Your first step is to download the “GOGI Life Tool list and the GOGI Calendar of Study”. All GOGI programming is based on building community through coordinated study. Click here for a 1-page PDF handout
STEP 2: Institutional Guide
Assess possibilities available based on your unique institution, facility, or restrictions. The GOGI leaders housed at EOCI in Oregon’s Department of Corrections created a handy “Institutional Guide to GOGI.” This informative document outlines several options for anyone wishing to utilize the many free and low cost program options available from GOGI. Step 2 is to download the “Institutional Guide to GOGI” by clicking here.
STEP 3: Assess Interest & Establish Your GOGI Leadership Team
Assess interest from specific segments of the population you serve. Having a brief discussion with members of the population is a good starting point, offering them the opportunity to review the Institutional Guide is another solid foundation for gauging interest. At this point, you may wish to assemble a small group of natural leaders or individuals who have experience in programming and an interest in leadership opportunities. Their level of engagement will dictate how robust you will be able to expand your GOGI community.
STEP 4: Meetings - GOGI MEETING MANUAL
Download and review the GOGI MEETING MANUAL, available in softbound book form for purchase, or in free PDF form by clicking here. Holding a weekly GOGI meeting is simplified in this clearly outlined handbook. Review the meetings, the formats, and the requirements, all of which are clearly outlined in the meeting manual. This manual was developed and created over a 20 year period working with students participating in the GOGI circle group format. You can bet there is not a situation or circumstance where a GOGI Meeting has not been held. From GOGI Meetings held through air vents in restricted housing units, to GOGI meetings held with 100+ participants in a packed gymnasium, you can have great confidence that how you hold your GOGI meeting will be a method tried and tested by thousands of GOGI participants.
STEP 5: Understand the GOGI Life Tools - GOGI LIFE TOOL BOOK
Make certain you have sufficient information about the GOGI Life Tools. The GOGI MINI BOOK is a quick reference guide to all the GOGI Life Tools. It is available for purchase, but if you click here _____ you can download a FREE PDF version of the GOGI MINI BOOK. This book also offers a FREE GOGI MINI BOOK REPORT course that, when completed by the student, generates an official GOGI certificate in cases where the entire book report is mailed in physical form via USPS to GOGI’s mailroom. GOGI’s PO Box is available on all pages of our materials, including our books and handouts. The PO Box for the GOGI Mailroom is: GOGI, PO Box 88969, Los Angeles, CA 90009.
STEP 6: Give Free Courses to Participants - FREE GOGI COURSES
Built in incentives work wonders to keep motivation high. For this reason, GOGI offers FREE GOGI COURSES which you can use to incentivize participants. Maybe you want to create a rule that anyone who attends 15 GOGI meetings gets the FREE GOGI TOOLS OF THE BODY course. The FREE GOGI COURSES are a great way to inspire and motivate. Click here to download the FREE GOGI TOOLS OF THE BODY Course. We have these free courses in Spanish as well, if you have a Spanish speaking population to serve. Click here for the first of four free courses offered to support your GOGI programming.
STEP 7: Credits and Certificates - More FREE stuff from GOGI
GOGI meetings are tools for you to motivate your population to participate in GOGI programming. Frequently, participants are documented as having participated in meetings and this documentation is placed in their file. In some cases, participants are awarded “good time” or other types of credits. Whatever form of credit you can offer will help keep your participants motivated.
GOGI offers certificates! GOGI offers a few certificates for specific course completions. When the student completes the MY LIFE STORY, or the MINI BOOK report, or any of the specialized softbound correspondence courses, GOGI issues a completion certificate. GOGI can also prepare certificates when an institution or organization is authorized to offer the FOUR FREE COURSES emailed to the institution in PDF format.
STEP 8: Processing Courses for Certificates
Students who complete free GOGI courses can submit their coursework to their institution representative for processing. This processing is based on the My Opinion Matters (MOMS) form submitted by the student upon course completion. Participants may receive a Certificate of Completion from GOGI, recognizing their progress and commitment to growth.
STEP 9: Institutions: Order Program Materials
Correctional facilities, schools, or community organizations can review available materials in our GOGI Shop to purchase bulk GOGI materials directly from GOGI using the GOGI order form.
